Advocating for Safe, Inclusive, and Equitable Schools
Every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and included in their school environment. As a trustee, Gaylene would work to ensure that policies reflect the needs of all learners, regardless of their background, abilities, or circumstances. This includes supporting initiatives that reduce barriers to education, fostering inclusive classrooms, and ensuring schools are welcoming spaces where diversity is respected and celebrated. By focusing on equity and inclusion, Gaylene will advocate for a school system that empowers every child to reach their full potential.
Championing Student Achievement and Well-Being
Trustees are responsible for setting policies that support student learning and success. Gaylene would work to ensure that students across PEI have access to high-quality education, resources, and programs that not only meet academic standards but also support mental health, wellness, and a safe learning environment.
Strengthening Community and Family Engagement
Trustees act as a bridge between the school system and the community. Gaylene would prioritize open communication with parents, guardians, educators, and community members to ensure their voices are heard in decision-making. She believes that strong partnerships between families, schools, and communities are essential to student success.
