School Board Trustees

The Public Schools Branch is governed by a Board of Trustees, responsible for setting policy and providing oversight to ensure high-quality education for students across Prince Edward Island. The Board works collaboratively to support student success and well-being.

As a trustee, Gaylene will help ensure that schools across the Island remain safe, inclusive, and engaging environments where both students and staff can thrive. Trustees are the bridge between the community and the school system, making sure the voices of families, students, and educators are heard and respected.

Gaylene is a candidate in Zone 5.

This zone is home to many Island families and schools, making it an important part of the Public Schools Branch. In the upcoming election, two trustees will be chosen to serve as the voice of the community at the board level.

Having two elected representatives helps ensure the interests of students, educators, and families in Zone 5 are well-reflected in board decisions. Gaylene is eager to bring her dedication, experience, and lifelong learning values to this role, working to support strong schools and positive outcomes for all students.
